Changing every day

Graham is developing so many new skills every day that it's hard to keep up! He continues to be more and more curious about everything around him.

He grabs things he wants with much more precision now and we need to be careful about what is in front of him! Case in point: about a month ago we were out to dinner and Graham, who was sitting in my lap. Then he reached for that shiny metal thing resting on my plate— my butter knife. My equally lighting-fast reflexes had it out of his hand just as fast as he had grabbed it. We learned our lesson fast! He'll pull on place mats, pull plates closer to him, and grab the table. Sometimes he'll lean forward and try to eat the table, too. Yum.

Graham is also really into textures right now and will feel things with a repetitive grab-like motion. It started with him doing this to his crib sheets. I could hear his nails scratching the sheets over and over again. Not a pleasant sound. Here's a video of Graham doing this to Jeff's jeans over the weekend:

He's also leaning forward and trying to sit up (without much success yet). When when he's on his back, he grabs his toes for "happy baby pose," as it's called in yoga. And just the other day Graham started putting his toes in his mouth and eating them. Too cute!
