Modern Communication

Graham enjoyed "tickling" his Nana + Papa during a recent Skype session. They played right along, laughing while G reached toward the monitor with his tickle mitts. Too sweet.

Blondies

My dear friend Elizabeth from Birmingham came to visit earlier this month with her husband and three boys. They stayed with us for three nights, filling our small house with lots of fun, boy energy! Graham started their stay by referring to the oldest two as simply "boy." He would walk through the house saying, "Booooooooy! Where arrrrre you?" Now he refers to them by name, but we all got a good giggle or two out of "Boy."

They left a couple of weeks ago to start their long drive home to Alabama (G says they're "far, far away!") but he still talks about them. Before they left, Elizabeth took the following photos, which are now loving posted on our refrigerator.

First girlfriend?

More of G and his sweet friend Annabelle, at the Minnesota Zoo last week. They held hands for quite a while, walking down the path together. They both seem to get such a kick out of it!

Date night

We have a little something called "date night" in our house. The other night, when mama and dada had a date night, G turned out his bottom lip before we left and said, "Graham come on date, too." (Yes, that was heartbreaking.) We explained he was having a date night with his babysitter, who he really likes and who's a cute, blonde college gal. He seemed to think that was a pretty good deal.

We also have "family dates" and sometimes, a date with just mama or a date with just dada. Recently I was off doing something so dada and G had a guys night out. Photo booth fun ensued.

Junior Fire Chief

Like most boys, G jumps up and down with excitement when he hears or sees a fire truck. So it was more than a little bit cool when one of our city's fire trucks came to a block party on our street. Yes, he got to meet REAL firefighters! Not only did G also score his fireman's hat (which he wears almost daily around the house now), he also got to climb inside the fire truck and explore. Fun!

"MY toys."

Here's the G-man last week listening with his toy stethoscope to the heart beat of his little-sibling-to-be... just moments after our midwives found it for the first time. Yahoo! Baby #2, here we come.

When we talked with him after our appointment about the fact that he would be a big brother, his first response was, "MY toys." Hm. I think he gets it pretty well for a 2-year-old!

We're thinking of picking up this t-shirt for Graham so he can say loud and proud that he's going to be a big brother this March. Think he'll dig it?

Summer cowboy

From a recent summer day picking strawberries... mmm!
