Beach bunny

Cold weather, be gone! Graham showed his affection for warm-weathered beach frolicking earlier this month while visiting Oma (Alisa's mom) and Coco (Val's husband) in sunny F-L-A. We also had a lovely visit with Graham's Great-Grandpa Buzz. We miss you!

FL Fun

We spent 6 nights in FL to ring in the first week of February. It goes without saying what a welcome escape it was from the long winter. The three of us rented a small beach cottage on Longboat Key, taking beach walks, enjoying nighttime bonfires, buying and grilling local fish, but mostly just enjoying uninterrupted togetherness. It was cold in FL (honestly), but it didn't matter. We were together and we had a blast.

Graham also went swimming for the first time, which he loved. Thank you to our cottage's neighbors, two almost-parents who were our age, invited us over for wine, and generously allowed us to swim in their heated pool. Graham played with, and of course ate, sand for the first time, too. Ick. Here are some pics of our trip, with the full album here.

Six states in 6 months— our traveling baby!

If you count Minnesota, Graham has now been to six states in his short six-month life. This past weekend we added Florida to that roster. Others in the lineup include Georgia, North Carolina, North Dakota, and Iowa!

Our Florida trip was planned so we could visit his grandmother, Oma, and her husband Colin, "Coco." And of course, the rest of the family was so excited to meet Graham for the first time.

Four generations of the Avrutis family came together: my grandfather (now called "Great Grandpa Buzz"), my mom, me, and G. I adored seeing Graham and Great Grandpa Buzz play together. He wasn't afraid to get down on the floor with G and play right alongside him. Important memories were made right there.

We took G to the beach and though it was too chilly for a swim, Graham did dip his toes in the Gulf of Mexico for the very first time.

G also had a great time meeting my cousin Cory and his Great Aunt Vicki. He initially liked their little hunting dog, too, but then he barked in Graham's face, which made him cry. Poor punkin.

G's Great Aunt Susan, my dad's sister, also drove four hours from Jacksonville to meet him. Thanks, everyone for your visits and for showering Graham with love!
